I remember when blogging was the hot new trend, anyone and everyone sharing their every thought online. Professional and personal blogs sprouted up all over the internet, it was like the early form of social media. But now we have Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and 100s of other web broadcasting methods is blogging still important? Is blogging now a thing of the past? Here are five reasons why you should still be blogging…

 

1. Blogging Increases Website Traffic

This reason alone should be enough to convince you to keep blogging. Blogging is a fantastic way to organically build search engine traffic. Active blogging brings more traffic to your website. As the amount of blog posts increases your overall site traffic will also increase. So if posting your business and industry-related content once or twice a week to your blog will get your website more views, get blogging!

2. Build Credibility and Trust

Blogging lets businesses and companies to build up brand credibility, equity and to develop some kind of authority on a subject. Posting about your industry, related news about the industry and sharing advice based on professional experience is a great way to increase credibility. Educating your client and audience is a great way to promote your skills and expertise. Make sure that your posts are relevant, accurate and consistent.

3. Get them Links

Creating awesome, relevant and accurate content is a great way to get inbound links. Having great content is great because people will want to share that content with friends and others over the internet. This could be as simple as a link on someone else’s blog pointing to your article as a relevant source of information, and as we all know links are great way to help your website rank better in Google.

4. Expand Your Professional Network

Blogs are an excellent networking tool; a well written blog can expand your professional network. Blog can be a way of connecting with other professionals to exchange ideas and build relationships/leads.  

5. Company Voice/News

Every business needs a voice, having a blog is an easy way to do that. Anyone can write an article about a company; this could be positive or very negative and damaging. Having a business blog can help manage your reputation. Also business blogs are a great way for businesses to share news and important enouncements to the public.
